Bill O’Reilly’s 8 pm Replacement on Fox News Announced

BREAKING:

I didn’t even know this was a possibility!

Fox News has finally announced their new pick for the 8 p.m. time slot after trouncing Bill O’Reilly while moving The Five to prime time and giving Eric Bolling a new 5 p.m. show.

It was announced earlier today that Fox was currently interviewing possible replacements for O’Reilly.

Now, the Hollywood Reporter[3] has announced that Fox has picked the absolute best person for the job and one of my personal liberal-wrecking favorites: Tucker Carlson. Looking at the numbers, I can see that I’m not alone!

Tucker Carlson has developed a swift following at Fox News. He wasn’t even in primetime at the top of the year, but his move to Megyn Kelly’s old 9 o’clock hour has been a huge success. He’s now No. 2 in cable news with an average 3.3 million viewers and 689,000 adults 25-54.

As reported by Reuters[4], O’Reilly had caused trouble related to allegations of sexual harassment.

Twenty-First Century Fox Inc has decided to part ways with star cable news host Bill O’Reilly following allegations of sexual harassment, the company said on Wednesday.

“After a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the company and Bill O’Reilly have agreed that Bill O’Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel,” the company said in a statement.

O’Reilly said in an April 1 statement that he had been unfairly targeted because of his public prominence. Marc Kasowitz, O’Reilly’s lawyer, said in a statement on Tuesday that the television host “has been subjected to a brutal campaign of character assassination that is unprecedented in post-McCarthyist America.”

Chapter 60 of our very own John Hawkins’ new book, 101 Things All Young Adults Should Know has some strong, practical advice for anyone looking to get into politics as a career:

Find something you love to do, and find a way to make that into a career. That may mean running your own business. It may mean going back to school to study something after you thought you were done. It may mean working a full-time job you don’t like while you work part time somewhere else to gain experience at something you love.
