On Thursday, amid the beautiful meltdowns of outraged lefties everywhere, MSNBC host Chris Matthews decided to go nuclear, comparing Trump to some of the worst people in modern history. This goes way beyond Trump making fun of Mika’s bloody facelift.

First, he compared Trump to the former dictator of Ethiopia, who was sentenced to death in 2008:

“It’s a far cry from that love feast we watched a few weeks ago, which is right out of Mengistu’s government in Ethiopia with all the people bowing to the president. Apparently all is not well in paradise.”

Bringing up Marxist dictators from the 1970s from a country that isn’t well-traveled by the average American is a good way to start out — by letting everyone know that you have the superior knowledge of political history. What, you’ve never heard of Mengistu? Well, Chris Matthews has, and he’s here to tell you that Trump is exactly as evil as him.

Further in the interview, he agains splashed out his superior knowledge of politics, by back-handedly suggesting that Jared Kushner ought to be murdered, by comparing him to Mussolini’s son-in-law Galeazzo Ciano:

“So the son-in-law — you know, one good thing Mussolini did was execute his son-in-law. I mean, I’m talking about Ciano.”

And in another brilliant comparison, he brings up the Russian Romanov family who were murdered by communists, again taking the angle that son-in-laws with power ought to be murdered:

The power seems to have gone to the son-in-law. This is the Romanovs. Just a thought. The Romanovs. Is it?

In an interview with The Washington Post, he told the reporter that he’s “allowed to have opinions” and that “one of my opinions was that nepotism is a bad thing in government.” To prove his point, he brought up Uday and Qusay, the nephews of Saddam Hussein:

You put Uday and Qusay in your government and you’re going to have a problem with everybody else in the government because nobody can fight with them. Nobody can challenge them and, in the end, the son-in-law is always right because he can always to go his father-in-law or his wife and say they were mean to me.

And this guy still has a job?
