Via Terresa Monroe-Hamilton:
Well, maybe… I find it exploitative. Trump wasted no time making the Brexit all about him. That the Brits winning their freedom somehow portends how America will do the same under Trump. Give me a freaking break. Trump had nothing to do with Brexit. In fact, he was in Scotland handling matters to do with a golf course of his. The Scots hate Donald Trump. They despise him. I find it ironic that Trump is portrayed as fighting the rich elitists, when he’s one of them. The Brits voted against populism and elitism… Trump is all about populism. Perhaps America will send the same message come November… I sincerely doubt it through Trump, but we’ll see. Regardless, it would seem people across the globe seem to be in the mood for revolt. I cheer for the Brits, Trump… not so much.
The people of the United Kingdom have exercised the sacred right of all free peoples. They have declared their independence from the European Union, and have voted to reassert control over their own politics, borders and economy. A Trump Administration pledges to strengthen our ties with a free and independent Britain, deepening our bonds in commerce, culture and mutual defense. The whole world is more peaceful and stable when our two countries – and our two peoples – are united together, as they will be under a Trump Administration.
Come November, the American people will have the chance to re-declare their independence. Americans will have a chance to vote for trade, immigration and foreign policies that put our citizens first. They will have the chance to reject today’s rule by the global elite, and to embrace real change that delivers a government of, by and for the people. I hope America is watching, it will soon be time to believe in America again.
Trump had previously said if he was British, he would “be more inclined to leave [the EU], for a lot of reasons, like having a lot less bureaucracy.” Perhaps he means that, but Trump stands to lose a lot if the EU spins apart. This was a matter for Britain related to Europe, not Trump related to Clinton. The Brits have voted for true conservatism, something Trump does not understand. Brexit says virtually nothing about our upcoming elections. It does tell us the people are sick of politicians and propagandists. Trump is both and a conman. Look for more speeches making it all about Trump while he claims the ‘Trump Effect’ is causing all this. It’s what narcissists do.
