Obama’s Army Chief of Staff Opposes Allowing Our Soldiers to Protect Themselves on Army Bases

Obama’s Army Chief of Staff General Mark Milley told Congress that he doesn’t believe permitting soldiers to carry weapons on military bases[1] is the right thing to do. I ask this – if we trust our soldiers with weapons on the battlefield, where they could cripple our team if they’re rogue, then why can’t we trust them at home where they’re surrounded by friends and family?

From CNS News:

In the 2009 Fort Hood incident, where 13 people were killed and 32 others injured, he noted that “police responded in eight minutes, and that guy was dead. So that was pretty quick.

“And a lot of people died in the process of that, but that was a very fast-moving event. And I am not convinced from what I know that carrying privately owned weapons would have stopped that individual.”

I think many of the people killed at Fort Hood may have been saved by a fast thinking soldier taking down a terrorist faster than eight minutes.
