North Korea is once again threatening all out nuclear war if we don’t stop doing things they feel threatened by. This is why the Japanese have launched a war ship to protect an American supply ship that is heading for the USS Carl Vinson. The NoKos are all fired up because we just finished installing the THAAD defense missile system on an old golf course in South Korea. They also got their panties in a wad because we flew two B-1 bombers near the demilitarized zone. Tough bananas.
President Trump has made some moves in the last week or so that are not advisable. First, he wants to meet with the murderous dictator from the Philippines. That may be called off now. Then, Trump said that Kim Jong-Un was a ‘smart cookie’ and that under the right circumstances, he would speak with him. Big mistake in my viewpoint. It will not be productive unless Trump gives North Korea food and money, which is what they want. We’ve played that game of Peanuts’ football for far too long.
From The Sun:
NORTH Korea has said it is ready for a “total war” threatening the “final doom of the US” as Donald Trump continues to stage military drills with South Korea.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has vowed to accelerate its nuclear weapons programme to “maximum pace” and test a nuclear device “at any time”, as tensions rise around the Korean peninsula.
The North’s official KCNA news agency said on Tuesday: “The reckless military provocation is pushing the situation on the Korean peninsula closer to the brink of nuclear war.
“Any military provocation against the DPRK will precisely mean a total war which will lead to the final doom of the US.”
It comes as the US military announced its controversial Thaad missile defence system is now operational in South Korea.
Thaad, which stands for Terminal High Altitude Area Defence, was placed at a former golf course in the central county of Seongju amid protests.
Angry residents fear the system will make the area a target for attacks endangering lives.
On Monday, the US flew training drills with South Korea and Japanese air forces in another show of strength.
Two supersonic B-1B Lancer bombers were deployed amid rising tensions over North Korea’s pursuit of its nuclear and missile programmes in defiance of United Nations sanctions and pressure from the US.
Our realistic options over North Korea are very limited. The ideal situation would be for China to take control and help bring together the two Koreas. That would mean removing Kim Jong-Un as dictator. I don’t see China doing that. They have lost control of what Kim does these days. In fact, just yesterday, the Chinese were looking for interpreters near the North Korean border because they expect all of this to go south and fast.
Our other option is to either surgically remove Kim or preemptively attack North Korea. At this point, war is almost a certainty unless Trump caves to the North Koreans and gives them what they want. But that only kicks the can down the road and pretty much ensures opening America to the risk of a North Korean nuclear or EMP attack. I don’t envy the President here, but I would caution him… you cannot negotiate sanely with a delusional despotic ruler such as Kim Jong-Un. In John Hawkins’ new book, ‘101 Things All Young Adults Should Know’, he teaches in number 51 of the book, “Prepare in case it all goes wrong.” I would strongly suggest that President Trump do this as it looks to me as if this is going to go very, very wrong at some point.
