When an Apparent Hate Crime Is Not a Hate Crime

Equality before the law as the bedrock principle of the Western legal system was sure nice while it lasted, but now we have “hate crimes.” A hate crime is a crime committed by a member of the core population against a member of a privileged group favored by the cultural Marxists in charge. For example, if a nonwhite yells, “I hate white people” and then assaults a white person, this is not a hate crime, as a Canadian court has confirmed:

An indigenous woman in Calgary, Canada who yelled “I hate white people” before punching a white woman in the face and knocking her tooth out did not commit a racially motivate hate crime, a provincial court judge has ruled.

Judge Harry Van Harten’s written decision in the case argued that the motivation of the perpetrator, Tamara Crowchief, in the attack on the victim, Lydia White, was not related to racial bias.

Sniffed the judge,

“I am not satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that this offence was, even in part, motivated by racial bias.”

Since yelling “I hate white people” didn’t convince the judge, it is unsurprising that this didn’t either:

During her arrest following the attack, which occurred outside an Irish pub, Crowchief reportedly told police “the white man was out to get her.”

As a result of not being a racist, Crowchief got off with time served and probation.

Now if the regrettably named Ms. White had hit her back, that might have been a hate crime.
