National Association of Police Organizations Lashes Out at Obama

Culpability for encouraging the malign Black Lives Matter movement until it inevitably resulted in mass carnage yesterday does not stop with the liberal media. Obama and his administration have been demonizing the police ever since he accused them of “acting stupidly” during the farcical Henry Louis Gates Jr. spectacle (see here and here). William Johnson, Executive Director of the National Association of Police Organizations, notices a major difference from the unrest of the 60s and 70s:

“I think one of the big differences then was you had governors and mayors and the president — whether it was President Johnson or President Nixon, Republican or Democrat — condemning violence against the police and urging support for the police,” Johnson said. “Today that’s markedly absent. I think that’s a huge difference, and that’s directly led to the climate that allows these attacks to happen.”

Dutifully admitting that the assassinations were “vicious” and “despicable” does not wash away the taste of Obama demagogically denouncing America’s allegedly “racist” police in front of a foreign audience for controversial shootings that have not been fully investigated, which he did less than 12 hours previously.

“It’s a war on cops,” Johnson also said. “And the Obama administration is the Neville Chamberlain of this war.”

That’s where Johnson has it wrong. Obama isn’t Neville Chamberlain; he is more like Vidkun Quisling.
