Donald Trump can win the election for President of the United States in 2012. He is the only one who can beat Barack Obama. Not only can Trump win, he could be the best president of the United States since Ronald Reagan. We need to get behind him now and here is why.: [And no, he is not paying me to say this.]
Donald and Melania Trump
After watching and waiting for many months since 2008’s devastating and not surprising loss to Obama, Donald Trump is the only one who has expressed interest in the race who has all of the qualities to win for the Republican party: He is bright, articulate, he loves this country, as a successful businessman he understands what it takes to run a company and create jobs, he understands foreign trade’s deleterious effect on America’s economy and workers, he believes in American exceptionalism and will do his best to bring us back as the leader of the free world.
To combat the dirty tactics that will come in the 2012 campaign, the GOP needs someone who is tough, seasoned in handling the media and media smears and who has the “vision” to rally America around him.
As I remember “back when” when Reagan was making the dash, : Donald Trump has: many of : the same “drawbacks” that were voiced about Ronald Reagan before he ran for president. I believe Donald Trump has the ability to be a great and historic president. What better cap to his career and his life than to spend 8 years in service to the country that made him rich?
The “down” side of Trump is not a deal-breaker
It should not be a “deal-breaker” that Trump has recently given money to Rahm Emanuel for his Chicago mayor’s race. This is “business” for a businessman and a non-issue.: It may be attractive to independents and Democrat voters that Trump has donated to GOP and Democrats.
Personal finances for a person of Trump’s wealth can be an issue in federal campaign reports. Trump can place his holdings in blind trust as others have done, or whatever needs to be done.
Trump abides no fools.: His personality can be abrasive.: This is not a bad thing, especially when applied to Democrats.
The time is NOW
The Republican party has just undergone a bruising change of leadership in the Republican National Committee. Too many of the potential candidates for President are tentative about making a move, or are simply too wimpy to make it all the way. Trump can take the arrows of the left. He is no stranger to the fickleness and vitriol of the media.
Trump should be invited to CPAC 2011 to begin his run for President
I would like to suggest that Donald Trump be invited to be the keynote speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference which will be held in Washington, D.C. in early February. This would be a perfect venue to roll him out.
In short, Donald Trump should be president of the United States. We need him, but most of all, he can WIN. On the issue ALONE of foreign trade and China relations, he should be president.
There is no other candidate who can WIN
It cannot be Mitt Romney, he has already failed in 2008 and there is his unfortunate sponsorship of state health insurance while governor of Massachusetts. It cannot be Newt Gingrich due to his disgusting personal issues. It cannot be Mike Huckabee for president due to his prisoner pardons as governor of Arkansas. Bachmann, Pawlenty, etc.= too soon or no name recognition. Palin cannot ignore her very high negatives, so her role as GOP lightning rod is more useful this time. Rep. Mike Pence has said no thank you.
It must be Donald Trump. He needs no introduction. He will make no apologies. He will kick Obama’s ass which is the goal. November 2012 is not about whose “turn” it is.
CPAC organizers: Invite Trump. Let’s get this started.
The Case for Donald Trump for President
For his position on how to handle China ALONE, Donald Trump should be president.
The Chinese are not friends, but enemies, and that they do not “understand niceness,” Trump said in CNN’s Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.
Following are some of the famous verbal assaults on China made by Trump in recent months:
Trump took the fight to the Chinese camp this week, blasting the state dinner held in honor of the visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao. He said if he were president, he would just ask the Chinese leader to meet him at his office, rather than holding a state dinner.
“For us to be holding state dinners for people who are just totally manipulating their currency … is hard to believe,” Trump was quoted by Liberty News. “You don’t give dinners to the enemy and that’s what they’re doing.”
The vitriol in his attack was far from hidden. “I would have sent them to McDonalds if we didn’t make a deal and said, ‘Go home. … “The fact is they’re laughing at our leadership, and we’re letting them get away with murder.”
China placed a massive order for as many as 200 Boeing commercial aircraft during Hu’s visit to the U.S. But Trump is not impressed.
“They’re ordering some Boeings. That’s peanuts. They’re starting their own airline manufacturer,” he said, according to Liberty News. “It’s almost impossible for companies to compete because of what they’ve done in terms of the manipulation of their currency” he said.
TAXING CHINESE PRODUCTS
Donald Trump says the way to counter China is to tax their imports until they clean up the currency mess.
“I would lower the taxes for people in this country and corporations in this country and let China and some of the other countries that are ripping us off and making hundreds of billions of dollars a year, let them pay,” Trump told Wolf Blitzer.
DOING BUSINESS WITH CHINA
“You try doing business in China it’s impossible … and yet they come over here and they make everything… the problem is that we don’t make things anymore… we make it in China and other countries and we really have problem,” Trump told Fox News in October last year.
“China is just ripping this country (the US) like nobody has ever ripped us before and we don’t have our talented people… we don’t use our great business people to negotiate. We use some diplomat.”
TRADE WAR WITH CHINA
Yes, Trump would love one. He said in November last year he would welcome a trade war with China because “we would save a lot of money,” therightscoop.com reported. According to him China is rebuilding themselves off Americans’ money while devaluing theirs.
Why Donald Trump is So Damn Right About China
Via American Dream:
#1 China has been manipulating their currency for years. It is estimated that the Chinese government is keeping China’s currency at a value about 40 percent lower than what it should be. This is essentially a de facto subsidy to China’s exporters.
#2 This year, the U.S. trade deficit has usually been about 40 to 50 billion dollars a month. Approximately half of that is with China.
#3 The United States spends about $3.90 on Chinese goods for every $1 that China spends on goods from the United States.
#4 American workers now find themselves in direct competition for jobs with workers in China that makes less than a tenth of what an American worker would make. In China a garment worker makes approximately 86 cents an hour. Apple iPhones are manufactured in China by workers making about 293 dollars a month (and that was after a big raise).
#5 In 2008, 1.2 billion cellphones were sold around the world. So how many of those cellphones were manufactured inside the United States? Zero.
#6 Between 2000 and 2009, America’s trade deficit with China increased nearly 300 percent.
#7 As of the end of July, the U.S. trade deficit with China had risen 18 percent compared to the same time period a year ago.
#8 A substantial percentage of China’s largest corporations are either fully or partially government-owned and are thus subsidized by the Chinese government.
#9 According to the U.S. Trade Representative’s 2010 National Trade Estimate, the Chinese government openly discriminates against farm goods and services which are made in America.
#10 It is incredibly difficult for U.S. businesses to set up in China, but for Chinese companies that want to do business inside the United States there are very few barriers.
#11 The House National Security Oversight Subcommittee recently heard testimony from a number of experts that told them that the rapid decline of manufacturing in the United States has resulted in America losing its edge in numerous industries that are absolutely vital to national security.
#12 China has now become the leading supplier of components that are critical to the operation of U.S. defense systems.
#13 China now has nearly a complete and total monopoly on rare earth elements. Today, if China totally cut off the supply of rare earth elements, we would pretty much have no hybrid car batteries, flat screen televisions, cell phones or iPods. Not only that, but rare earth elements are also used by the U.S. military in radar systems, missile-guidance systems, satellites and aircraft electronics.
#14 Since 2001, approximately 42,400 American factories have closed their doors, and about 75 percent of them employed more than 500 workers while they were still in operation.
#15 According to a disturbing new study by the Economic Policy Institute, if the trade deficit with China continues to increase at its current rate, the U.S. economy will lose over half a million jobs this year alone.
#16 Dell Inc., once one of largest manufacturers of computers in the United States, has announced plans to dramatically expand its operations in China with an investment of over $100 billion over the next decade.
#17 Dell Inc. has announced that it will be shutting down its last large U.S. manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in November. Approximately 900 good paying jobs will be lost.
#18 As of the end of 2009, less than 12 million Americans worked in manufacturing. The last time that less than 12 million Americans were employed in manufacturing was in 1941.
#19 According to a new study conducted by Thompson Reuters, China is likely to become the world’s leader in patent filings by next year.
#20 All of this new affluence is allowing the Chinese government to dramatically upgrade and modernize its military.
#21 One prominent economist is now projecting that the Chinese economy will be three times larger than the U.S. economy by the year 2040.
Trump Opposes Ground Zero Mosque
Trump has criticized the Bloomberg-supported “Ground Zero Mosque,” even offering to buy the Park Place building in order to end the controversy.Criticizes Obama’s State of the Union praise of China:
Trump on the Issues
One drawback for many conservatives may be Trump’s position on abortion: He says he hates the procedure, thinks it is a family choice, and opposes partial birth abortion. He has not been interviewed on this recently. In light of new 3-D ultrasounds and state cases on “fetal pain” proceeding to the U.S. Supreme Court, perhaps he is a work in progress on abortion. To “moderates,” his position that it is legal for now, but partial /late abortions cannot stand, may be a good thing.
