Trey Gowdy is fed up over the Republicans not repealing Obamacare and he’s letting it be known. Gowdy ripped into the GOP yesterday when they failed to keep their word after seven long years. He’s exceedingly frustrated… we all are. Republicans have been running and winning on the promise to repeal every word of Obamacare, but many of them turned on that promise when it came time to put up or shut up.
Not only that, but other than a couple of feeble attempts at this, they didn’t even try for a full repeal. They just wanted to nix part of it and keep it in place. This is the progressive RINO party now. Conservatism is pretty much dead except for those like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and Rand Paul. We gave them the House, the Senate and the White House and they lied to us all the way. Ted Cruz said there will be a reckoning and no party can remain in power by lying to those who gave them that power. He’s so right.
Ever since Obamacare became law in 2010, Republicans nationwide have been winning elections promising to repeal Obamacare and replace it with a consumer-centered, free market solution. Now that the GOP controls both Congress and the White House, it appeared that the repeal and replace would finally happen.
However, more than six months into the Trump administration, it hasn’t happened — and Gowdy is exasperated over it.
“Our problem is that for seven years we’ve been telling people what we’re against and what we’re opposed to and then we’ve had seven months to govern, and the best we can come up with is a skinny plan on 24 hours notice?” Gowdy said on “Fox & Friends.”
“We gotta get better at telling people what we believe, why we believe it, and then persuading them that it’s right for the country,” Gowdy explained. “We’ve had plenty of time to do it. We set unrealistic expectations and then we never meet them, which leads to anger and frustration.”
Gowdy continued, quipping: “We’ve had seven years to figure it out and the best we can come up with is something called ‘skinny.’”
It’s unacceptable that the Republicans pulled this. Many of them are taking cover behind John McCain, who took a hit for the team and voted no. The bill was awful, but not as awful as what is about to happen now. Those Senators will now claim they voted for it, but it failed anyway, which is what they planned all along. They want the freebies, the pork in this monstrosity and they want the kickbacks from the insurance companies as they are bailed out. McCain had nothing to lose… he has brain cancer and is on his way out.
Gowdy and Cruz are both right. After these morons go home and get eviscerated by their constituents for lying to them and not doing their jobs, they need to come back and pass a full repeal of Obamacare. And don’t replace it. If it is allowed to implode as Trump wants, the premiums that have already skyrocketed 140 percent and would have gone up another 20 percent under the ‘Skinny Repeal’, will now go into the stratosphere. When it’s done, we’ll probably be forced into single payer healthcare. So, if those Senators come back and don’t get it right, all hell will break loose in this country. “[The repeal] desperately needs to be done. The Affordable Care Act is failing,” Gowdy said. Exactly right. “It’s not going to be done with 24 hours notice and a bill that has the word ‘skinny’ in it,” he said. Gowdy nailed it and the Republicans better listen.
