Sarah Palin is slamming daughter Bristol’s former fiance after he filed court papers involving the couple’s daughter Sailor. Dakota Meyer filed papers seeking joint legal and physical custody of Sailor Grace, who was born on December 23 in Alaska:[1]

In the court documents filed by Meyer which were obtained by TMZ[3] he is also asking for one other thing from Bristol – child support.

Sarah responded by telling Entertainment Tonight in a statement; ‘For many months we have been trying to reach out to Dakota Myers [sic] and he has wanted nothing to do with either Bristol’s pregnancy or the baby.’

She then said that Meyer is just trying to ‘save face’.

Bristol’s rep also released a statement, saying: ‘My values are such that a real American hero doesn’t ask for child support.’

Meyer, 27, previously implied he was the father of Sailor shortly after her birth when he wrote on Twitter: ‘Best Christmas present ever!! I couldn’t be more proud of this little blessing.’

He also included a photo of Bristol, 25, holding the newborn.

Bristol’s rep David Martin said that he does not know how Meyer obtained that photo.

It is the second child for Bristol, who is not married but was engaged to Meyer, a Marine Medal of Honor recipient, earlier this year.

The two called off their wedding just days before it was set to take place over Memorial Day weekend in Kentucky.

Bristol claimed earlier this year that the pregnancy had been planned.

The 25 year old wrote on her blog that she had always ‘wanted more kids’ and ‘to have a bigger family’.

‘Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself,’ wrote Bristol.

‘Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. I do not regret this baby. This baby is not a disappointment and I cannot wait to be a mom times two.’

Look, I don’t mean to be rude, but as someone who was a single mom and had a HUSBAND – (not finacee, not boyfriend) that wanted zero to do with the kids we had – count your freaking blessings. He wants to be there. Let him. Share the baby, the love, and yes, the money, because you know what? Bringing a life into the world takes two, and like it or not, he has a claim on that little girl as much as you do. Adding another life means that you are part of not only hers, but his life as well. Make peace and do it for Sailor – and Grandma, butt out.
