SYRIA’S ASSAD: ‘Chemical Attack Was 100% U.S. Fabrication’ – Russia Backs His Story [VIDEO]

Assad is a monstrous liar. And shame on the AFP for even giving him airtime on this. They did an interview with the murderous dictator and of course he denied the Sarin gas attack that took the lives of at least 85 Syrians, including 25 children and wounding hundreds of others. Assad doubled down on the claim that it must have been a rebel storehouse of the nerve agent his military inadvertently hit while bombing the rebels. There is a mountain of evidence that swats that theory down and a whole bunch of logic as well. Of course, Russia backed Assad’s claims, knowing full well that they are untrue.

Assad had the nerve to claim Americans were working with terrorists to justify the bombing of Syria’s airfield. Let’s talk about that Sarin gas for a minute… there are some uncomfortable facts surrounding Assad’s claims. First, the rebels do not have the finances to mass produce that amount of Sarin – it is incredibly expensive. They are destitute and have all but resorted to throwing rocks at Assad’s military. They have basic weaponry, but nothing like this nerve agent. They also don’t have a delivery system… it takes a plane to deliver Sarin gas over a wide area to be effective. We believe the plane that dropped the nerve agent was on loan from the Russians now. Also, Sarin has to have its chemicals combined… it is not stored as one chemical. Once released, the gas disperses very quickly… just as quickly as it kills.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said a suspected chemical weapons attack was a “fabrication” to justify a US military strike, as Moscow digs in to defend its ally despite increasing strains with Washington.

In an exclusive interview with AFP in Damascus — his first since the alleged April 4 attack prompted a US air strike on Syrian forces — Assad said his army had given up all its chemical weapons and that Syrian military power was not affected by the US strike.

“Definitely, 100 percent for us, it’s fabrication,” he said in the interview on Wednesday in reference to the alleged chemical weapons attack.

“Our impression is that the West, mainly the United States, is hand-in-glove with the terrorists. They fabricated the whole story in order to have a pretext for the attack.”

Western leaders including US President Donald Trump have accused Assad of being behind last week’s attack in the rebel-held town Khan Sheikhun, saying his forces unleashed a chemical weapon during an air strike.

The suspected attack killed at least 87 people, including many children, and images of the dead and of suffering victims provoked global outrage.

Assad claimed the videos of those children that died so horribly during the attack were all fake. No, they were not. Then he had the audacity to say that we don’t even know if the attack took place or if those children even exist. How deeply evil is that? Assad did not give up all his chemical stores. Anyone who thinks he did is a fool.

Retaliation for the Sarin attack was something the US had to do. There is a near-century-old international prohibition against the use of chemical weapons and the Syrian regime’s repeated violations of that international law and the inexplicably ruthless murders the regime had committed forced America to take action. General Mattis has said there is absolutely no doubt that Assad was behind the chemical attack. On Monday, Mattis issued a statement saying the missile attack destroyed 20% of Syria’s air force and made the Shayrat air base unusable. He also said Syria would be “ill-advised” to use chemical weapons again.

If you had doubts about Assad before, don’t have any now. He ordered that attack and it’s not the first time. The last time in 2013, he killed 1,400 Syrians this way. People ask why he would attack his own people. Syria is putting down those that would stand against the Assad Regime. There are different factions of Islam. Assad is an Alawites Muslim. Many of those standing against him are Sunnis, who are the majority there. Russia has made promises of power and land to Assad. Iran is supplying funding. The uprising was started by one teenager 6 years ago with a small protest for more Western rights… people in several towns joined in, the Assad police went brutal on them and here we are. Iran wants the ports, Russia wants geopolitical power and natural resources. Assad is all about money and power. And he doesn’t give a damn how many he has to kill to retain his power.
