It has been more than a decade since 9/11 and our government is still incapable of connecting the dots. In 2011, Russia alerted the FBI that Tamerlan Tsarnaev might be a radical Islamist. Since Tsarnaev was a non-US citizen with a domestic violence charge already on his record, he should have been deported twice over.[1]. Yet, the FBI interviewed him and did nothing.

Now, Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss says we may have had a SECOND CHANCE to stop Tamerlan that we let pass.
“There now appears that may have been some evidence that was obtained by one of the law enforcement agencies that did not get shared in a way that it could have been. If that turns out to be the case, then we have to determine whether or not that would have made a difference.”
It’s worth noting that what Chambliss said there dovetails with the report that there were bomb squads and bomb sniffing dogs on the scene BEFORE the Boston Marathon took place[3]. Did some agency know what was going on, fail to share information, and miss a chance to stop the Boston Marathon Bombing?
It’s too soon to say, but it’s not too soon to say that there should be congressional hearings on this subject to find out how many people in our government dropped the ball and we already know the answer isn’t zero.
