“Voter ID laws are racist!” “They unfairly target minorities!” “You just want rich white men to vote!”

Huh. Those voter ID laws don’t seem so terrible now that we’ve discovered that despite not legally being able to vote in United States elections, the man who shot up a mall in Washington state did in fact vote.

Three times.

Arcan Cetin (I keep wanting to say ‘Cretin.’ Wonder why?) voted not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES in American elections in which he was not an eligible voter. Statistically speaking, that cannot be the first time this exact scenario has happened in the US. Ineligible voters have been voting for years at the behest of politicians who need to up their numbers in order to stay in office.

According to local news, this means that Cetin will be facing additional federal charges on top of what he was already facing for shooting up the Burlington Mall in Washington.

Let’s not just gloss over the fact that Washington is a predominantly liberal state that rejects any iota of common sense and stamping it with a broad and oft-misused BIGOTRY label.

Basically, they are taking your word for it that you’re legally allowed to vote.

“We don’t have a provision in state law that allows us either county elections officials or the Secretary of State’s office to verify someone’s citizenship,” explained Secretary of State Kim Wyman. “So, we’re in this place where we want to make sure we’re maintaining people’s confidence in the elections and the integrity of the process, but also that we’re giving this individual, like we would any voter, his due process. We’re moving forward, and that investigation is really coming out of the investigation from the shootings.”

Oh, and in case you were wondering, he’s not exactly a “Make America Great Again” type, according to his Twitter account.

I’m very confident that this will in no way, shape or form end up changing the minds of liberals into adopting voter ID laws, but hey, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it use common sense.
