Artists Suggests Adding Outkast Rappers To Stone Mountain

No one need agree with the Southern interpretation of States’ rights. A simple reading of our Constitution will reveal that the current status of federalism is way off-base, but that’s a discussion for another day. However, it seems clear that the left cannot abide a difference of opinion and their outrage over the maintenance of Southern heritage shows exactly that. Now, these buffoons are attempting to hijack our conversation surrounding the Confederacy by insisting that rappers be added to Stone Mountain.[1]

Amid all the controversy surrounding the Confederate monument on Stone Mountain, one local Atlanta artist is suggesting a compromise of sorts. Instead of removing the three Confederate leaders from the side of the mountain, he is suggesting adding two prominent Georgia rappers to the sculpture instead.

In this rendering by Mack Williams, he shows rappers Big Boi and Andre 3000 of Outkast riding in a Cadillac alongside Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.

About the change, Williams has said, “I believe it’s important to recognize the history and heritage of all Georgians. However, the carving of Davis, Lee, and Jackson on the side of Stone Mountain only represents a small, regrettable time in the history of the Peach State. It’s high time we added a bit more of our history and culture to this monument.”

He goes on to say, “By no means do we wish to erase or destroy the current carving, which, regardless of its context, is an impressive and historic work of art. We simply wish to add new carvings, of Atlanta hip-hop duo Outkast, to the mountainside. There’s plenty of room.”

Both members of Outkast are native Georgians, having grown up in East Point, Atlanta. They have been named one of the most successful Hip Hop groups in history with six Grammy awards to their name, along with six successful studio albums and a greatest hits album that sold more than 25 million copies.

To get the change made to Stone Mountain, Williams has started an online petition that he plans to deliver to the Georgia State House, the Georgia State Senate, and Governor Nathan Deal. If you would like to add your name to the petition you can do so here.

The left’s bullies simply cannot stand to see a difference of opinion. For them, every matter is a clear matter of right and wrong. Support welfare reform? You’re immoral. Support traditional marriage? You’re a bigot. Support the Confederate flag? You’re a special kind of heinous racist who wants to see the resurrection of slavery.

I guess they have too much time on their hands…
