Is the below game just a game? No, it is a fun exercise that underscores the need for conservation efforts. The below picture presents a Panda to discover, but it’s not easy to see. Take the time to look and also bear in mind that the Panda is highly endangered.
Russian artist Ilja Klemencov has hidden a giant panda amongst black and white zig-zag lines in what appears to be the latest mind-altering puzzle featuring the fluffy bear.
The clever trick-of-the-eye, titled ‘They can disappear’, appears to support charity conservation efforts by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
While the mammal instantly jumps out at some observers, those who are struggling to see it are advised to take a step back from their computer screens or turn it to a near 90 degree angle.
The original artwork was uploaded onto picture-sharing site Imgur by user ‘matata’ three years ago, but has surged in popularity again after being re-posted to Reddit.
The WWF say that a panda census in 2014 found that there were 1,864 alive in the wild, with numbers having risen from around 1,000 in the late 1970s.
They are currently listed as endangered on the IUCN red list.
No, a puzzle will not save the Pandas nor will it change the world. However, sometimes the greatest way to bring attention to an important issue is to showcase the issue in something fun.
