soldier combat[1]This is one of those touching videos that just tears at your heartstrings. Army Captain Will Swenson was captured on video in Afghanistan helping Sgt. 1st Class Kenneth Westbrook to the medivac helicopter after he had been shot in the throat. He is seen in the video kissing and patting Westbrook on the head as he helps him into the helicopter.[2]

Clash Daily reports,

This is touching. Army Capt. Will Swenson received the Medal of Honor for his bravery while defending his country. The small act of kindness caught on video shows his real nature, even in the middle of combat. God Bless Will Swenson, and God Bless our troops!

Sadly, Swenson never saw Westbrook again. He was so severely injured he passed away 29 days later. His widow was shown the video for the first time last year. Watch her response in the incredible video below. You know Captain Swenson made things a little bit better for Westbrook and his video demonstrating how much he cared, as part of the brotherhood of the army. Westbrook’s brother had also died in combat four years earlier. After losing his second son too, Marshall Westbrook, Sr., said, “I can hardly talk, but we believe in Jesus Christ. We follow him. And even though we lost them, we know where they are.”
