Help send Canadian blogger embed to Afghanistan

by Kathy Shaidle | January 10, 2009 7:20 am

Considering our numbers, Canada has suffered big losses in Afghanistan, fighting an unpopular war (public support in Canada runs about 50/50).

Now Canadian mil-blogger Damian Brooks[1] is headed over to cover Afghanistan, on his own dime. He writes:

It’s going to be a couple thousand bucks: insurance so my family’s covered if something goes wrong, some travel costs, special inoculations, visas, some kit, etc. It really adds up. To those willing to help with this: thanks!

I hope a few readers will check out Damian’s announcement at his blog[2], find out more — and maybe give him a hand.

We have the same kind of mainstream media up here that you guys have. Damian will bring us all a much needed perspective on this situation.

If you can help out at all, thanks!
