Man Charged With Sexual Abuse of 18-Month-Old Performing “Unimaginable, Depraved Degradation of the Toddler”

According to WoodTV,[1] a Michigan man is being charged with sexual misconduct charges for having allegedly molested a toddler.

A man faces state and federal charges for allegedly sexually abusing a toddler.

Eric Devin Masters, 28, was in a Kent County courtroom Monday on criminal sexual conduct charges.

The Lowell Township man is accused of taking an 18-month-old girl to a motel in southern Kent County in June 2012, tying her to a bed, sexually assaulting her and recording it, according to court documents. Investigators also said Masters engaged in “unimaginable, depraved degradation of the toddler.”

The assaults were discovered when FBI agents were investigating Masters for a series of sex crimes around the state. They discovered video on his computer showing the man who assaulted the toddler had tattoos that matched Masters’.

Masters already pleaded guilty in federal court last fall to three counts of producing child pornography. He committed the crimes between 2011 and 2013 in Grand Traverse, Ionia and Kent counties. The federal indictment does not specify whether the charges involved one or more children.

He faces up to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced in the federal case on March 18, but could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted of the state charges.

While this is absolutely heinous, the only conceivable “good” to come from this is knowing that for the next 30 years, if found guilty, this man will enjoy the company of violent criminals who often hold few sympathies for toddler molesters.

That will be a long, long 30 years…
