Seriously, who tries to take a selfie with a rattlesnake, and who is surprised by the result? Apparently this guy[1], who now has a $153,161.25 hospital bill…

A San Diego man was almost killed when he tried to take a selfie with a rattlesnake that he picked up from some brush.

Unsurprisingly, the snake bit him.

Todd Fassler’s treatment drained the anti-venom stock at two separate California hospitals as doctors tended to the horrific wound on his arm.

It looks like anti-venom is not cheap, as the pharmacy costs accounted for over $80,000 of the bill. It’s not clear if he has insurance, thought if he doesn’t, it would have probably been a good idea not to try something like this in the first place.
