Migrant Father Who Put His Baby Up For Sale On eBay Is Forbidden From Seeing Her

When this year’s father of the year awards are handed out in Germany, this guy will not be among the recipients. A refugee literally put his 6 week-old baby, Maria, up for sale on eBay. The listing was only up for 30 minutes, but it was long enough for the authorities to be notified. The father claims it was all a joke. But German authorities are not laughing. Human trafficking is illegal.

The baby and mother are currently being taken care of by the state and the father cannot see them, but the father and/or mother may lose all parental rights if this becomes a criminal charge and conviction. The chairman of the Christian-Democratic Union of the Rheinhausen district of Duisburg, Klaus Moennicks, says:’I am of the opinion that this must have legal consequences. If the parents believe that they cannot provide the child with proper care, we have the possibility in Germany to give the child up for adoption or to give it to a foster family.’
