NPR Mission To Find ‘Godfather’ Of Fake News Leads To Them A Liberal Democrat In California

The home of government content and the bastion of leftist idealism – National Public Radio (NPR) – launched it’s own investigation into the “fake news” sites that the Left keeps blaming for this past election’s results and found to its surprise that the ‘original gangster’ of fake news is a liberal Democrat from Culver City, California.

NPR’s host, Laura Sydell, delineated the process of chasing down fake news sites — many of which had names and formats designed to look like legit news websites — and found many that led to one company in particular:

The sites that were included in the find are, and All of these addresses were linked to the very same rented server inside Amazon Web Services. Meaning it was most likely that all of these servers were owned and operated by the same company. An email address was on one of the sites and it lead to a name:

Jestin Coler.

Coler is registered online as the founder and CEO of Disinfomedia.

Disinfomedia owns many fake news sites — the number of fake news sites is unclear, as he will not release how many. But he claims that his is one of the largest fake news businesses online, which doesn’t help the left’s claim that it was right-wing fake news that sent Trump over the top.

In an interview with NPR, Coler said that the purpose of starting his fake news empire in 2013 was “to highlight the extremism of the white nationalist alt-right” — or, in Coler’s direct words:

“The whole idea from the start was to build a site that could infiltrate the echo chambers of the alt-right, publish blatantly false or fictional stories, and then be able to publicly denounce those stories and point out the fact that they were fiction.”

Coler believed that his fake news helped push his agenda forward, as it “fit into existing right-wing conspiracy theories.”
