Obama’s Legacy Is Done – House Defies Him, Votes 419-1 On Iran

This was an uppercut to the ego! President Obama found himself on the business-end of a 419-1 vote after telling the nation that he doesn’t believe Donald Trump will scrap the Iran Deal that has been the cause of so much controversy.

The vote is the definition of “landslide” and shows that the House of Representatives is absolutely and overwhelmingly in favor of extending the sanctions against Iran for another 10 years.

My suspicion is that when the president-elect comes in and is consulting with his fellow Republicans on the Hill, that they will look at the facts,” Obama said. “To unravel a deal that’s working and preventing Iran from pursuing a nuclear weapon would be hard to explain,” particularly if it leaves Iran free to reconstitute its weapons programs, he said.

So, who is the one person who voted against extending the sanctions?

That would be Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky, who appears to take issue with the idea that we should take a tough stance against countries who would willingly engage in an all-out nuclear war with the United States if they had the ability.

This vote just goes to show that 419 men and women are willing to stand up to our President and show him that we need to exhibit strength, rather than allow our enemies to take advantage of us because we aspire to be “open-minded.”

I’m personally very happy about the results of this vote and that it was a bipartisan effort to make our country a safer place.
