In Tchula, Mississippi there may not be a new police chief in town, but there is definitely a new clown in town and Police Chief Kenneth Hampton has something to say about it. Scroll down for pictures and video.

Mississippi is among the seven states which have had recent creepy clown sightings. The others are Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and South Carolina. In multiple incidents, creepy clowns have been spotted skulking about at night, in some cases actually engaging in criminal behavior such as attempting to abduct children, and in others, carrying weapons such as swords or machetes.

Many Americans have long had an aversion to clowns. In fact, they are considered somewhat creepy even when they are not trying to be. No offense intended to happy law abiding clowns, but it seems as if the era of the classic clown has passed. And now we are in a post-clown era in which the only clowns around seem to be scary or weird.

Modern children don’t clamor for clowns at their birthday parties, nor do they want to dress up as clowns for Halloween…again, unless it is a creepy one. The time of clowns as desirable entertainers has, for the most part, ended. And so, it seems even odder that these creeping clowns are sneaking around these towns, causing fear.

Chief Kenneth Hampton has a warning for those in Tchula who are inclined to don big shoes and a scary clown mask, and start preying on the fears of residents while waving sharp weapons. He sent out a warning on Facebook:

“Who ever [sic] you are running around in Tchula wearing a clown suit waving a sword and scaring the hell out of people, let me give you some advice,” Hampton wrote.

“STOP IT!!!! Because if I roll up on you and you wave that damn sword at me. IT’S GAME OVER SON!!! I’m gonna teacha how da duggy!!!”

Chief Hampton is the perfect image of the American hero. And creepy clowns had best beware. He’s got your number and it’s going to be “game over, son.”
