Vladimir Putin has never exactly been on our best friends list[2]. Recent years and the relationship with Russia have shaded many American’s views of Russia and Vladimir Putin even more. Even his connection with Donald Trump ended up casting poor shades on our president-elect in the campaign process. But maybe things are improving. Perhaps our relationship with Russia is on the mend. And maybe, just maybe, Trump can actually help that situation.

Action movie star Steven Seagal, 64, has become good friends with Putin in the last decade or so. He regularly travels to and from the vast country. At the Kremlin ceremony, he was given a Russian passport as a sign of goodwill and welcoming.

At the Kremlin ceremony, Putin said: ‘I want to congratulate you and express the hope that this is another, albeit small, gesture and it might be a sign of the gradual normalisation of relations between our countries.’

When asked how he was doing, Seagal replied that ‘everything is good. We will talk later. For now just honored to be here.’

Hopefully this is a step in the right direction. In the 2012 presidential race, Barack Obama openly laughed at the concept of Russia being a significant threat to our national security. The last four years have proven how incredibly wrong our current president, Barack Obama, was. The nation of Russia has continued to expand their power and influence. Which means their threat is increasing as well.

Maybe Donald Trump will have a better relationship with the powerful Russian leader. We can only hope that this proves to be true.
