A Colorado convenience store worker says it was maternal instinct that had her grab a baby from the clutches of a mother just seconds before the woman collapsed to the ground. What she did may have just save the baby’s life:[1]

The incident occurred at a store in Arvada and the worker, Rebecca Montano, said she could tell by the look on the customer’s face that something was not right.

‘I’m a mother, I’m a grandmother. It’s motherly instinct to worry about children,’ Montano told KWGN.

Montano said the woman came to the counter with her baby to buy a soda.

However she did not look well.

‘Then all of a sudden she had a glazed look on her face and I knew something was wrong,’ Montano said.

While talking to the mother to make sure she was alright, Montano instinctively reached for the baby.

Seconds after grabbing the child, the mother looks to the ceiling and falls down.

Montano tried to catch her but couldn’t. She ran out from behind the counter.

‘I came over to help the girl and she was having a seizure,’ Montano said.

Montano asked a customer who witnessed the collapse to hold the baby.

She then called 911, with paramedics soon arriving. The woman was transported to hospital.

Baby and mom are doing just fine.
