Donald Trump has made a lot of promises throughout the course of his campaign. Since being elected to become the next President of the United States of America, he has worked to fulfill a handful of those promises. He has done this while also dismissing many other promises such as saying he would hire a team to investigate and press charges against Hillary R. Clinton. He has taken that back as well as other bold statements he made.
So, often one has to stop and wonder at the validity of many of his promises. Donald Trump just came out with a statement on the Dakota Pipeline dilemma.
While interviewing with Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday,” Trump said, “I will tell you, when I get to office, if it’s not solved, I’ll have it solved very quickly.”
He does not expound on what he will be doing, but he makes it clear that he will find a solution quickly. But the source of the solution is what I want to hear more about. It is an incredibly tricky situation that has people all over the country flocking together to make their voices heard on the issue. North Dakota has become nearly a pilgrimage for people who see it as unconstitutional and morally wrong.
So, what does Donald Trump have to offer the situation? I hope he is able to provide clarity and direction to the situation. But it simply feels unlikely.
Let’s just hope Trump is right. I worry that by simply saying he will solve the issue he is oversimplifying it. But maybe he has a plan…. or a really good team to help make things happen.
