The family of a panhandling grandmother in Oklahoma City says they’re “appalled” at the Facebook video of her that has gone viral.
The video shows the unnamed 78-year-old woman being confronted by a man who had given her money and then became angry when he saw her in her new car, according to KFOR.
“You ask for money in the middle of the street and you’re driving a 2013 car,” said Daniel Ayala, the man in the video.
“Listen, I work hard for my money,” he said. “That’s why people like you take advantage of people like me. This is bull****.”
Brandi Newman was with her son when she when she saw the woman get into a shiny red Fiat and she decided to take a picture.
“I was like, ‘That’s the lady I gave money to.’ I was looking straight ahead, thinking, ‘I just got duped by a little old lady,” Newman said.
It was as she was taking the photo that Newman heard Ayala yelling.
“If I see this car tomorrow. I’m going to f***ing bust a window,” said Ayala.
“Of course, it’s not right to bash somebody’s windshield in. I didn’t think he was going to do that for a minute,” Newman said. “He was just trying to prove a point that you don’t come here again, don’t do this again, quit scamming people.”
“I gave that lady over $15 in five days,” Ayala told KFOR later, explaining his anger in the video.
Newman said the beggar’s grandchildren contacted her through Facebook after the video when viral and said they were “appalled.”
They said that their grandmother “isn’t doing anything illegal” because she has a panhandling permit.
Oh, well … that makes it okay.

‘Panhandlers’ can get permits now? What the heck is that about? Why are these grandkids even letting grandma beg on the streets? She deserves being yelled at- she has a brand new car. Most people can’t afford gas. Or healthcare, or anything else, because no one has a job. Welcome to Obama’s America, kids. Enjoy the ride.
