Well, the all out false narrative assault is on. Democrats and the media are determined to paint Republicans as either racist (they just can’t manage to find proof of it) and/or “violent.”
All of this goes far beyond politics as usual…you’ll search in vain for anything comparably menacing, anything that even hinted at an appeal to violence, from members of Congress, let alone senior party officials….to find anything like what we’re seeing now you have to go back to the last time a Democrat was president.
As Nice Deb points out, the ladies on the view also were DEEPLY disturbed:
The ladies on The View condemned the violent imagery, as well, with Joy Behar wheezing, “it looks like an “Al Qaeda Christmas card…”
The only problem? Krugman need not go back to the last time a Democrat was president to see “anything like what we are seeing now.” He need only to look back at the last time a Republican was President.
Be glad that you are reading this small little blog for the truth, because I can promise you that Paul Krugman will not admit his hypocrisy or condemn the Democrats for using the imagery as well. The ladies on The View won’t as well (unless someone gets this info to Elizabeth). And there you have what it’s like to be a conservative. The left throws out smears, and when it’s discovered that the Democrats have done the same, the media goes quiet and the public only hears the onesided unfair view.
Both maps are innocuous. But Krugman couldn’t resist an opportunity to add to the false narrative. In his column he says, trying to sound fair:
“For if you care about America’s future, you can’t be happy as extremists take full control of one of our two great political parties.”
Yet he gives no examples of leftwing extremists, only those on the right. And the irony of that is that he himself is one of those leftwing extremists. To me, an extremist is someone who lies to stir up hate for others.
That fits Krugman to a T.
Oh, how the media is wringing their hands about the terrible rhetoric coming from those on the right and the tea partiers. How soon we forget. HotAir takes us down memory lane to the leftwing “love” of Bush during his Presidency. You decide whose worst. (apologies to Warner Todd Huston for repeating the video in his post)
Did you hear that “appeal to violence” during the Bush years? I guess Krugman didn’t. I suppose Krugman also forgot about the code pink protestor that runs up to our Sec. of Defense, Condi Rice with “bloody hands” and shouts two inches from her face. It got about one days play in the media. Imagine if a Tea Partier did such a thing to Hillary Clinton now. We would get about 2 weeks of nonstop coverage on the “violence” in our party.
Reasonable people will all agree that both sides have their extremes. The problem is reasonable people don’t get the entire story. “F*&K you” posters of Bush were ignored, while Obama the Joker Posters get primetime airing. The people don’t get the truth. They only get the lying narrative of people like Krugman.
