Holiday Hell

Hi to all you RWN’s readers; for those of you who don’t know me, I am Dr. Helen Smith and blog at www.drhelen.blogspot.com.[1] I am grateful to John for allowing me to guestblog today and pimp my Pajamas Media column[2] on political discussions and the holidays:

Not everyone looks forward to sitting around the Thanksgiving table with their extended family, notes PJM advice columnist Dr. Helen Smith – particularly those whose politics differ from members of the clan. She offers a food-fight prevention survival guide.

I would imagine that many of you are fairly strong in your political opinions or you probably wouldn’t be reading this particular blog, but one on sports, music, knitting or whatever. With the Thanksgiving holidays coming up, do you have any political talk over the holiday dinner table with friends and family? If a liberal friend or family member makes a dig at the Republicans while breaking the dinner rolls, do you rise to the bait or stay cool as a cucumber? Does it ever get heated? If so, how do you cope?
