How Quickly They Forget

Here is a story about a Wisconsin bar that recently burned a paper mache of Obama[1]. The secret service is investigating. Absolutely terrible. But it’s interesting that the reporter acts as if this has never been done before. And I totally disagree with one of the people he interviewed that it has anything to do with racism.

Has it been done before? Well, of course. [2] Below is one of hundreds of Bush being hanged, or trashed in some way (and I don’t remember the secret service ever investigating them). Does the media not remember these things? We are so horrified that an Obama statue was burned. Where was your horror when Bush images were being treated that way? Me? I think, no matter who is President, there should be some degree of respect for the office of the Presidency. If I had been in the bar, I would have made them stop before they could start. But let’s not pretend this has never happened before or that it has anything to do with the color of anyone’s skin[3].
