I Can’t Believe We Elected

I Can’t Believe We Elected This Guy: There are certain people who are useful as reverse barometers[1] because they are so consistently wrong. Of course, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while so you can’t ALWAYS assume they’re wrong, but you’re usually safe in assuming they’re off target. People who are good for this sort of thing include Noam Chomsky, Michael Moore, and the French. But, there is one man who stands out above all others, one man who can almost always be trusted to be wrong when he makes a pronouncement about foreign policy or what’s best for the country. That man is our 39th president, Jimmy Carter. Yes, Mr. malaise, a man known as the worst President of the last century, a President who destroyed the American economy so thoroughly that economists are still trying to figure out how he did it.

Jimmy Carter is currently in Cuba sucking up to Fidel Castro and claiming that the Bush administration is wrong if it thinks there are any biological weapons in Cuba.

So what can we learn from this? Since Carter obviously likes Castro a lot, that means we should probably put tighter restrictions and sanctions on Cuba. Furthermore, since Carter says Cuba has no biological weapons, that means that Cuba not only has a biological weapons program, but they’re probably getting ready to start mass producing smallpox disguised as children’s milk.

Remember, if history has taught us anything, it’s that Jimmy Carter is almost always wrong!
