Man Admits to Beating Two Cats to Death With a Golf Club Because He Felt ‘Betrayed’ After They Scratched Him

It could probably be argued that there should be some kind of test required in order for people to own pets. Evidence for such a thing could be found by looking at what happens when people like Christopher Bisbee have animals living in their homes.

Christopher J. Bisbee, 32, pleaded guilty in court in Erie, Pennsylvania on Monday to a second-degree misdemeanor of cruelty to animals and faces up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

… Several people at Bisbee’s residence implicated him before police say he confessed in August.

He told authorities that one of the animals had scratched him, which left him feeling ‘betrayed’, the Erie Times-News reported.

He admitted that he had ‘struck both cats numerous times with a golf club until they no longer were moving’.

His lawyer claims that Bisbee has sought mental health counseling, which, if true, is a good thing — but it’s not enough. Someone who would commit such cruelty to animals, who has this much rage inside of him, should likely be committed to a mental health institution, before he has the chance to upgrade his violence from animals to people.
