True The Vote Summit In Houston Texas

The True The vote Summit in Houston this weekend was attended by representatives from 27 states that wanted to learn how they can do better in fighting voter fraud.

I’ve written about The King Street Patriots and the controversy surrounding them here.[1]

These are good people just trying to do the right thing. The voter fraud accusation as been thrown around by both sides for a long long time. But the way our system works now, proving voter fraud is like leaving your doors unlocked at home all day while you are at work and never checking to see if anything is missing. You can say, “I’ve never had anything stolen.” But if you never check, then you don’t know if you did or not. Which is the premise of another True The Vote Speaker, John Fund from the Wall Street Journal, who wrote a book called, “Stealing Elections.” Former Senator Norm Coleman, who lost to Al Franken, and Joe Miller, who lost in Alaska, were also there. They felt they had been affected by voter fraud, so they are very supportive of this movement. Most of us regular citizens, on both sides, have no problem with any kind of accounting on voter fraud. We want free and fair elections. To vote is our most important patriotic duty and right. It should never be tainted.

Anita Moncrief spoke at the summit. She is the ACORN whistleblower. Just from her testimony alone, it was clear that ACORN was abusing the voter registeration system. Keep in mind, Anita was an ACORN employee. A liberal Democrat. But she didn’t like corruption or deception. Her site, Emerging Corruption is here. [2]

What this is all about is following the rules of precincts. Poll watchers are trained to monitor the voting and report misdeeds. There are places in Houston (and all over) where people are so used to “helping” others fill out their ballots, and they have never been questioned. But it’s time for that to stop. It’s time to let citizens vote on their own without incentives or “help”.

When Catherine Engelbrecht founded King Street Patriots & True the Vote, she never imagined it would blossom like this. It hasn’t been an easy road for her either. She has been sued. She has been harrassed. But no matter what people like Quanell X or The New Black Panther party say, these people are simply trying to keep the integrity of the vote, and it has nothing to do with race or anything else. If one is honest, one has nothing to fear or be angry about. A few years ago, Engelbrecht and other friends volunteered to watch polls. They were shocked at what they found.[3] That is how this whole thing started. Even our own Harris County Voter Registar at the time, Leo Vasquez said, “The integrity of the voting rolls in Harris County, Texas, appears to be under an organized and systematic attack by the group operating under the name Houston Votes.”

It doesn’t matter which side of the political sphere you are on, none of us want this kind of corruption in our voting.

I also got to meet the founder of The Crispus Attucks Tea Party, Earl Johnson. This Tea party is named after Crispus Attucks, who was the first American killed in the “Boston Massacre” of 1770 in the Revolutionary War,. He was a fugitive slave who fought and died for this country. Attucks became an icon of the anti-slavery movement and was held up as an example of the first black hero of the American Revolution. This Tea Party is in the backyard of Shelia Jackson Lee’s district. Earl Johonson’s goal is to start these inner city Tea Parties in cities across the nation. He wants to bring together like minded black conservatives and libertarians that don’t see the GOP reaching out to them. The GOP has given up on the black vote, and that is a tragedy in my opinion. People like Earl and myself are trying to change that. So, if you live in Shelia Jackson Lee’s district, and would like to be involved, let me know and I will send you in the right direction. People of all races and backgrounds are welcome of course.

I wrote about the Crispus Attucks Tea Party here. [4]

In the end, we all fight against the tyranny of government as one people. All races, all backgrounds, all religious beliefs. We are one as Americans. Our enemy is the overreaching of government that intrudes in our lives, disrespects and ignores the Constitution, and takes away our God given liberties.
