Who Really Should Have Had Better Vetting: Palin Or Obama?

The New York Times[1] ran a snotty piece speculating about whether McCain properly vetted Palin.

Well, let’s do a little comparison of “scandals” between Palin and Obama and see who really needed to be vetted.

Palin: Her husband had a drunk driving conviction a couple of decades ago.

Obama: He used cocaine a couple of decades ago and hopefully hasn’t used it since.

Palin: She has a 17 year old daughter who’s pregnant. The daughter is going to have the baby and marry the father.

Obama: Famously said he wouldn’t want his daughters “…if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”

Palin: She’s accused of trying to get a brother-in-law who mistreated her sister and threatened her father fired.

Obama: Has a brother living in a hut that he does nothing for.

Palin: Was a member for two years of the “Alaska Independence Party,” which had some members that supported secession and produced the governor of the state of Alaska in 1990.

Obama: Was a member of an anti-white, anti-American church for 20 years.

I think that clearly the person who wasn’t well vetted enough here, by the mainstream media and by his own supporters, was Barack Obama.

Update #1: Apparently, Sarah Palin was not actually a member of the American Independence Party[2]. However, Obama was pals with Jeremiah Wright and did attend his racist, anti-American church for roughly two decades. Palin 1. Obama. 0.
