Escalating the War on Christmas at the University of Minnesota

Everything that reminds progressives of Christmas must be suppressed, even wrapped packages:

An academic department at the University of Minnesota declared that “bows/wrapped gifts” are “not appropriate for gatherings and displays at this time of year.”

According a copy of the guidelines obtained by Campus Reform, UMN’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) encouraged its employees “to recognize holidays in ways that are respectful of the diversity of our community” …

As we all know by now, being respectful of diversity means ruthlessly repressing the culture of the core population. This cultural Marxist objective, as much as hatred of Christianity, drives the War on Christmas.

The guidelines also note that a Christmas party is not a Christmas party but a “winter celebration” (as if winter in Minnesota were something to celebrate). Any reference to the point of Christmas — i.e., Christ — should be avoided; this explicitly applies not only to decorations and music but even to food.

Santa Claus, angels, Christmas trees, the Star of Bethlehem, and nativity scenes are specifically proscribed, along with the colors red and green.

Cowed by the fanatically intolerant liberal establishment, a generation is letting social engineers take our heritage away. If we had been occupied by the Nazis or Imperial Japanese, they might have been more permissive of our customs.
