About those Medicare doctor reimbursement cuts…

Forget what the Senate didthe House is a whole ‘nother story:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi struck a combative tone tonight, rejecting the Medicare “doc fix” passed hastily through the Senate Friday until Senate Republicans allow a vote on jobs measures that have passed through the House.

That’ll be a 21.3% cut to the money doctors get from the government for treating Medicare patients, if the House doesn’t do something.

Of course, one might wonder why they don’t just stop putting these cuts into bills in the first place – they go through these conboblulations every single year. But…feh.

The real question is: why’s everybody so worked up about this? Remember: Medicare is a government program. Everybody’s always perfectly happy when they’re involved in a government program. Always. Happy. So what difference does this make?
