BREAKING: Documents Confirm FBI’s Remarks On Clinton Probe Were Watered Down

“The edited statement deleted the reference to gross negligence – a legal threshold for mishandling classified material – and instead replaced it with an exculpatory sentence.” So, it looks like there are documents that prove former FBI Director Comey’s statement regarding Hillary Clinton had been given a politically-correct scrub down before he was allowed to make it public. It would appear that during the editing phases, the extent and severity of Hillary’s crimes were significantly watered down. Think of it as a lawyer trying to make a triple-homicide look no worse than jay-walking and you’ll get the idea.

Senator Ron Johnson, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, issued a letter to the FBI that appears to indicate that the original copy of the Comey statement wasn’t the one that was delivered to the nation.

An early version of the letter read that it was “reasonably likely” that Clinton’s unsecured server had been accessed by “hostile actors,” while the final cut was modified to say that the scenario was merely “possible.”

Another edit changed the use of “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless.” This was a strategic change because people can go to prison for “gross negligence,” but not “extreme carelessness.” So of course, the FBI was protecting Hillary when that change was made.

In the letter, he chastised the edits as hiding the potential “criminality of Secretary Clinton’s handling of classified material.”

“The edited statement deleted the reference to gross negligence – a legal threshold for mishandling classified material – and instead replaced it with an exculpatory sentence,” he noted.

It also noted that any potential legal violations that may have been found in regards to “gross negligence,” such as “misdemeanor handling” were also conveniently removed, along with a reference to the “sheer volume” of classified material found on the server.

“While the precise dates of the edits and identities of the editors are not apparent from the documents, the edits appear to change the tone and substance of Director Comey’s statement in at least three respects,” Johnson’s letter continues.

He also commented on the “repeated edits to reduce Secretary Clinton’s culpability in mishandling classified information.”

“In summary, the edits to Director Comey’s public statement, made months prior to the conclusion of the FBI’s investigation of Secretary Clinton’s conduct, had a significant impact on the FBI’s public evaluation of the implications of her actions,” the letter concludes.

So, did the FBI find Hillary guilty of mishandling information, but were too cowardly to call her on it? Perhaps this is worth investigating.
