This story comes to us from India, where vengeance is something they take a lot more seriously than risk management.
From the Independent Journal:
While facing his daughter’s rapist in court, a father from India said he was prepared to forgive the seventeen-year-old assailant and accepted compensation that would give the attacker a lesser punishment.
According to the Mirror, the teen was found raping the father’s seven-month-old baby girl.
When the teen was released from court, the father offered him a ride home on his bike to the village of Kotli Ablu, where they both reside.

Chopped his hands off with a machete. You’ve got to wonder why that kid was dumb enough to accept a ride home from the father whose family he’d destroyed.
But analyzing the rationality of a kid who thought it would be a good idea to rape a seven month-old is probably not a great idea.
