Some of the earlier reporting on the shootings at two Tennessee military centers identified the shooter as “a white guy.” Now we know this isn’t the case. The shooter has been id’d as a Middle Easterner from Kuwait. It is also clear that he was acting as a terrorist on behalf of the ISIS terror group.

The shooter has now been id’d as 24-year-old Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez who was born in Kuwait.
He was believed to have been born in Kuwait, and it was unclear whether he was a U.S. or Kuwaiti citizen. The official was speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss the ongoing, sensitive investigation. It was not immediately clear whether the gunman’s first name was spelled Muhammad or Mohammad.
He is from Hixson, Tennessee, which is just a few miles across the river from Chattanooga.
Also, before the shootings began a Tweet from ISIS warned Chattanooga that something was about to occur.

Also, let’s point out that the military offices that were shot at were “gun free zones.”

**Update**
Note that the ISIS Tweet noted above has now been debunked.
