Donald Trump had a lot of missteps and nonsensical ramblings at last night’s debate, but his comments on why we need to enforce our immigration laws were not among them. According to Trump, without enforcing those laws, we don’t have a country.
If we don’t have borders, and allow anyone who wants to come here just walk right in without abiding by our laws, then how can we plausibly claim that we still have a sovereign country? Whether or not Trump’s plan to handle the problem is realistic and workable is still up for debate.
