Saying, “Here in Arkansas, where a person started isn’t where he has to stop,” former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee announced that he is running for the 2016 GOP nomination for president of the United States.
Huckabee made his announcement at a rally in Hope, Arkansas and becomes the seventh serious Republican candidate to formally announce his run for America’s top job.
In his speech Huckabee invoked his religion, his love of the Second Amendment, members of our military, and his family.
“I truly went from Hope to higher ground,” he said employing his much repeated theme.
Huckabee joins a growing list of GOP candidates.
