So let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.
Tim Cook, Business Week
I already knew Tim Cook was Gay because he was outed over the summer on CNBC. It didn’t change my opinion of the man one way or another because it’s none of my business who he sleeps with. I own Apple products and own stock in the company because I believe Apple is the best at what they do.
When Tim Cook made his sexuality public a few days ago, I respect his feeling the need to do so if he felt it might help others. Cook is a highly successful man that has achieved great things in his life and surely his example can be inspriring to others.
But, when he said being Gay is the greatest gift God ever gave him, Cook committed a great insult to The Lord because God would never give a person the propensity to commit sinful behavior as a gift. It must be understood that although God permits homosexuality he is neither the author nor the instigator of it. That responsibility falls squarely on The Father of Lies.
Further, it is not a gift but rather a curse that unfortunately have become manifest since The Fall of Man.
I’m not saying any of this to condemn Cook or anyone else. Christ alone will have the final say and there’s still hope for Cook and the rest of us. But, in order to understand the affliction, we have to understand the true causes.
