So Who Was The Leader Of The Democratic Party From 2000 To 2008?

Perhaps because the Left spent the last few years obsessively talking about George Bush as if he were Hitler, the Left is desperate to anoint a new “leader” of the Republican Party so they’ll have someone to fixate on,

Nearly half (47 percent) of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents surveyed in a USA Today/Gallup Poll failed to come up with a single name when asked who is the party’s spokesperson.

Of the names that were mentioned, radio host Rush Limbaugh and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich received the most nods. Each was named by 10 percent of Republicans as the voice of their party.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney was close behind, at 9 percent.

Among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents surveyed, just 17 failed to identify a party spokesperson. Sixty-seven percent of Democrats surveyed named President Obama as main person who speaks for their party.

Republicans have been forced to rebuild after suffering demoralizing losses in 2006 and 2008. Democrats control the White House, both chambers of Congress and also hold more gubernatorial seats.

Of course Democrats view Barack Obama as the leader of the Democratic Party: he’s the President.

If USA/Gallup really wanted to do a fair comparison, they would have polled Democrats on who the “leader” of their party was from 2000-2008?

Was it Harry Reid? Nancy Pelosi? Keith Olbermann? Michael Moore? Jimmy Carter? Did Bill Clinton lead the Dems inbetween affairs?

Here’s another question: how many times was Nancy Pelosi asked about something Michael Moore said? When was Howard Dean ever peppered with questions about a Keith Olbermann screed? Heck, we can’t get the press to ask Barack Obama any tough questions at all, much less about whatever the latest dumb remark from Jeremiah Wright happens to be.

Here’s the reality: The Republican Party doesn’t have a leader right now and it doesn’t need one.

…However, when we have enough fired up Republicans who want to try to save this country from the Democrats who are systematically destroying it, a leader will emerge and we will beat the Democrats and put that person in the White House.
