Thanks For The Weak Statement On William Long, Sparky

Remember the statement President Apology Tour gave within hours after uber abortion doctor George Tiller was murdered (and yes, murdered, and Roeder should be tried on capital murder charges)?

I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.

Shocked! Outraged!

As most of us know, Private William Long was murdered, and Quinton Ezeagwula was injured, in a drive by shooting intended to kill soldiers – though it might be a stretch to think that the country in general know about this, due to the media’s less intense coverage – and President Grasshopper rushed to make a statement….that’s right, he didn’t. Finally, on Wednesday, he released a statement

Meanwhile, in a statement released by the White House Wednesday, President Obama said, “I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence against two brave young soldiers who were doing their part to strengthen our armed forces and keep our country safe. I would like to wish Quinton Ezeagwula a speedy recovery, and to offer my condolences and prayers to William Long’s family as they mourn the loss of their son.”

Saddened. That’s it. That’s all the emotion he can work up for this “senseless act of violence.” But, as Michelle Malkin writes “Senseless?” It made perfectly good sense to a vengeful Muslim convert jihadi bent on “killing as many people in the Army as he could.”

But, he is apparently not saddened enough to even bother putting the statement on the White House site. His statement on Tiller was put on the website quickly and the same day.

This should make the troops feel that their Commander in Chief has their back, eh?

Baldilocks calls it an “offhand remark.”

Rhymes With Right: passive voice.

Nice Deb: tepid statement

Blatherings Blog has video of interview with Long’s father.

The American Pundit: The murder of a late-term abortion doctor is outrageous enough to spark a strong comment within hours, while the murder of an individual who served this country in the military takes days and media pressure for any comment whatsoever. Lovely.
