FBI Chief Issues Grim Prediction: FBI director Robert Mueller had this to say…
“There will be another terrorist attack. We will not be able to stop it. It’s something we all live with.”
He’s exactly right about that. We’re an open society with an unlimited number of high value targets for terrorists to hit. While there are certainly things we can do to reduce the risk, we are not going to be able to win this battle with defense. I’ve been saying all along that we’re going to have to hit these terrorists where they live. We need to destroy their camps, assassinate their leaders, turn or overthrow regimes that help them, and get them running for their lives and trying to figure out who they can trust and who they can’t instead of planning attacks on the US. Terrorism can’t be eradicated but we can break the backs of every terrorist group out there with international reach which will greatly reduce our chances of getting hit. But to do it, we need to turn the CIA loose like we did in the cold war and let the military destroy their safe havens. Either we do that or a lot more Americans are going to die unnecessarily.
