Apparently, that is what some Muslim medical students in England want. They are refusing to even study diseases that might result from sexual or drinking behavior that they disapprove of. And some are even refusing to treat women.

Some Muslim medical students are refusing to attend lectures or answer exam questions on alcohol-related or sexually transmitted diseases because they claim it offends their religious beliefs.

Some trainee doctors say learning to treat the diseases conflicts with their faith, which states that Muslims should not drink alcohol and rejects sexual promiscuity.

A small number of Muslim medical students have even refused to treat patients of the opposite sex. One male student was prepared to fail his final exams rather than carry out a basic examination of a female patient.

The religious objections by students have been confirmed by the British Medical Association (BMA) and General Medical Council (GMC), which both stressed that they did not approve of such actions.

Recently, a man failed the bar exam in Massachusetts because he refused to answer a question about gay marriage. I didn’t approve of that either. If you have such strong objections, choose a different profession. But a doctor can’t refuse to even be educated about certain medical conditions because he disapproves of the patient’s personal behavior.

And how long do you think it will be before British political correctness starts to give in to these students in the name of respect for their religious beliefs?

If their faith forbids women getting an education and then forbids doctors to examine women, I guess they just are ready for women to die without any medical treatment whatsoever. Is that what they would want for their mothers, wives, or sisters?
