Witness the Tolerance of Islam

I’d like build upon the article I wrote yesterday entitled, “Stop Making Excuses for Islam.” http://commonconstitutionalist.com/current-events/stop-making-excuses-for-islam/  In it I expressed my frustration over the constant refrain from Islam apologists that “That Is Not Islam,” every time a Muslim expresses his intolerance of something outside his “faith.”

I am reminded of the idiotic remark said by president Obama in Egypt while on his infamous “Apology Tour” of 2009. https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/remarks-president-cairo-university-6-04-09 Actually, he said a lot of stupid things like, “The relationship between Islam and the West includes centuries of coexistence and cooperation, but also conflict and religious wars.” Well, he’s half right, but it certainly isn’t the “coexistence and cooperation” part.

But what should have garnered the biggest laugh was this:

“I’ve come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United Statesand Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition.  Instead, they overlap, and share common principles — principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”

When you’re done choking on the words, go back and reread the last sentence. After everything we’ve discovered and witnessed about Islam over the past several years, to say that statement was and is a load of crap is an understatement. “Justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings?” Really? Muslims, at least in the Middle East, are the most intolerant humans on the planet, especially to those of other religions.

So now I bring to you yet another example of this Muslim “tolerance,” brought to us by the tiny nation of Brunei, on the Island of Borneo in the South Pacific.

In 2013, the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, decreed a new penal codehttp://www.jihadwatch.org/2015/01/brunei-bans-christmas-raided-restaurants-that-put-up-decorations imposing “restrictions on the religious freedom of non-Muslims, including forms of religious expression such as teaching, proselytism, religious publishing and even speaking freely to Muslims and atheists about one’s own religious beliefs. Even minor infractions are punishable by heavy fines and in some cases prison sentences as well.” That certainly sounds “tolerant.”

And in 2015 the Sultan amended the penal code by also banning the public celebration of Christmas. He then sent out authorities to raid restaurants and other buildings that had put up holiday decorations. “A staff member at one location said enforcement staff came to the restaurant and verbally warned the management against exhibiting decorations that went against Islamic beliefs.”

One is no longer allowed to display any decorations, sing carols, send Christmas cards or even wear a Santa hat, and “Muslims caught celebrating are threatened with up to five years in prison.”

But the Sultan is not without a heart. Those not of the Muslim faith may celebrate Christmas as long they are not caught doing so by a Muslim. “‘These enforcement measures are…intended to control the act of celebrating Christmas excessively and openly, which could damage the aqidah (beliefs) of the Muslim community,’ said the Ministry of Religious Affairs in a statement.” http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3369213/Brunei-BANS-Christmas-threatens-Muslims-celebrate-five-years-prison-Christians-organising-celebrations-warned-jailed.html

And still we in America continue to be lectured by the likes of CAIR and our dear president that we must not only tolerate and accommodate Islam, but embrace it as our equal. Well, it’s not equivalent and it seems a weekly occurrence where we hear of another example of the intolerance of Islam.
Personally, as a Christian, I’m getting really tired of turning the other cheek. I think I may be all out of them.
