Apparently, The GOP Is “Rigging The 2012 Election”
Written By : William Teach

In Liberal World, requiring people to actually show proof that they are themselves is mean and bad and evil and rigging the 2012 election, according to the Washington Post’s E.J. Dionne

An attack on the right to vote is underway across the country through laws designed to make it more difficult to cast a ballot. If this were happening in an emerging democracy, we’d condemn it as election-rigging. But it’s happening here, so there’s barely a whimper.

Got that? One Man one vote is somehow anti-democratic……well, yeah, because if Democrats have to actually show an ID to vote, they won’t be able to get dead people, illegal aliens, and foreigners to vote Democratic Party, as well as having Democrats vote more than once. I remember back in 2008, receiving a new voter ID card from the Wake County Board of Elections. Except, it wasn’t addressed to me. Didn’t have my name on it. Was a woman’s name. Black. Democrat. Lived in Charlotte, NC. I know the last because the voter rolls showed her as registered in Mecklenburg County. It would have been easy to vote in Charlotte, then drive to Raleigh. Obviously, I reported this to the Elections Board, who, well, did something.

The laws are being passed in the name of preventing “voter fraud.” But study after study has shown that fraud by voters is not a major problem — and is less of a problem than how hard many states make it for people to vote in the first place. Some of the new laws, notably those limiting the number of days for early voting, have little plausible connection to battling fraud.

Remember when voter fraud was a big deal among Democrats? Remember their caterwauling about stolen elections? Which mostly disappeared when they won Congress in 2006, and the White House in 2008. But, they are worried about losing the Senate and White House in 2012, so, they need every edge they can get. And making sure that liberals can vote multiple times, along with the dead voting, is an important measure.

Oh, and then there’s this New Mexico study, which showed 64,000 issues of possible voter fraud in the 2008 election. Obviously, requiring ID to vote is not a perfect idea, because illegals and foreigners are using said ID to vote (you’d think Democrats would approve of this), so, the obvious solution is to stop giving American ID to foreigners.

These statutes are not neutral. Their greatest impact will be to reduce turnout among African Americans, Latinos and the young. It is no accident that these groups were key to Barack Obama’s victory in 2008 — or that the laws in question are being enacted in states where Republicans control state governments.

See? It’s raaaaacist. Because, in Dionne’s World, Blacks and Latinos are too poor to afford an ID card, something required for writing a check, driving, taking a plane flight, using a credit card, signing a contract for a new cell phone, renting a car…we use ID lots of places. Not sure about you, but I was itching to get my drivers license, and took my test on my birthday.

In part because of a surge of voters who had not cast ballots before, the United States elected its first African American president in 2008. Are we now going to witness a subtle return of Jim Crow voting laws?

Democrats know that requiring ID would only solve some of the issue: people can easily spoof with fake IDs or with their regular ID. What they want to accomplish with this line is to set it up so that when Obama loses, they can blame the GOP, saying that Obama lost not because of his being the most incompetent president ever, but for their “racist” and “anti-democracy” voting policies.

HAHAHAHA, these people never quit. They just want to continue stuffing the ballot boxes with votes from the dead, illegal aliens, foreigners here on limited visas, the lisst just goes on and on.

I guess if they could figure out how to get the vote of the baby of a pregnant woman they would.

Never mind they always figure out a way to eliminate the votes of military personnel that are on assignment in another country.

    Friggin cheats.

    Oh BTW, good morning everyone.

    • StanW

I guess if they could figure out how to get the vote of the baby of a pregnant woman they would.

Oh, I’m sure that have a way, GF, but it would require acknowledging that the child is a person and has rights, which flys in the face of Democrats most sacred position… that of killing children before they can be born.

Democrats would rather have dead minorities than the votes, which says much for their moral bankruptcy!

      • gfchicago

You do have a point Stan, guess I didn’t think it all the way through.

    • D-Vega

Illegals and foreigners can’t vote here, and there’s been no evidence of anything like that.

      • StanW

That are nor SUPPOSED to vote here, Vega, but they do.

If only we could check ID’s at the poll to make sure that only citizens abd eligible people voted. Any idea who is standing in the way of that, Vega?

      • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

We’ve shown you evidence of illegals voting before, and you changed your story to ‘well that’s just a couple” and now you’re back to “it never happened” again. Typical leftist arguing technique: ignore the facts, return to the same discredited crap when you figure people have forgotten, learn nothing, never change, never grow up.

      • UFKA_Smithwick

        Illegals can’t work here either.

How’s that working out in reality?

      • Drake

Actually, there has been evidence of voter fraud filed with the Ohio state government every even-year election since 2002. The list has been steadily growing into the tens of thousands, but you can continue sticking you head in the sand, Vega.

    • BEASTDOG

Killing unborn children is one the lefts sacred cows, they would rather set themselves on fire before they gave any rights to unborn children. But, on the other hand if a child does manage to be born into this world, the left will be the first to grab the child and use him or her as a human shield to push their twisted leftist/socialist agenda. As for showing ID to vote = racism to the left, than I guess that my local beer store must be full of racist becuse I must show ID every time I buy beer, my local supermarket must also be racist because I had to show ID when I bought some nightquil for my wife, the DMV must also be just full of racist how dear they ask me for ID when I renewed my license, that darn racist bank of mine how dear the ask for ID when I want to cash a check. I could go on and on but the important thing here is you need to show ID for just about everything, but to have to show ID to vote is some how racist is a idiotic claim at best.

  • aposematic

Maybe we should just dye the voters fingers to remind them they have already voted if they are too lazy or too stupid to preregister or get a drivers license/ID or have entered this country illegally or overstayed their Visa. That at least might limit them to only one vote.

    • D-Vega

Illegals don’t vote. They wouldn’t get deported over an election.

      • StanW

Illegals are not SUPPOSED to vote, Vega. But with your side of the aisle doing everything it can to allow voter fraud, it is possible AND LIKELY that illegals do vote.

  • baoxian

You know what’s funny about these stories? Not once in any of them has a liberal actually produced a quote or comment form a real voter that would be concerned about their ability to vote if government-issued ID was required.

Of course, that’s because in most states an ID card costs about $7-10 and is good for 4-6 years. They’re also free or reduced in many cases to seniors or low income residents.

I think the real story here is the shocking racism of Dionne in assuming that black voters are all too poor to afford an ID that costs on average $2 a year.

    • StanW

Of equal humor, Bao, is the Liberals desire in union voting. They want an name attached to each union vote and they want that vote to be public.

So to Liberals, voting on whether a shop should be come union or not is MUCH more important that voting for any of our elected officials.

When I see a Liberal screeching about having to show a picture ID to get on an airplane, cash a check, or rent a movie, then AND ONLY THEN will I take their complaints about having to show an ID to vote even a little bit serious!

    • William Teach

I did a post about the costs, state by state, back in 2008 http://www.thepiratescove.us/2008/04/28/what-does-a-state-id-cost/

  • http://TheNixonTape.Blogspot.Com Dick_Nixon

Ah yes, the smell of fear in the air and accusations of racism.

The left is dying a slow painful death. It amuses Nixon.

    • CV63Veteran

I too recall being amused by all the same things back in ’08. And while I was laughing at how dumb these tactics were, they managed to slip that malignant tumor named Obama into the White House. Sorry but I no longer find these leftist tactics as funny as I once did.

  • Good Ol Boy

Considering how many things require a valid ID in our daily lives, as Mr. Teach illustrated in the article, these compulsatory measures should have a beneficial side effect of increasing assimilation of the groups effected into regular American society.

  • Greg

So, when it comes to voting then its targeting blacks. But when it comes to thinks like abortions at Planned Parenthood, well it’s NOT targeting blacks but instead something we must support at all costs. Amazing how their tune changes.

  • TeaPartyNation

The effort by the lunatic-left d-cRAT socialists to unprotect and, in effect, open the US border with mexico is clearly part of their desperate effort to get “You Lie!” hussein a second term. The massive voter fraud by ACORN that allowed “You Lie!” to steal his previous election will pale in comparison to the voter fraud from the millions and millions of additional amnesty-seeking ILLEGALS that this latest failure to secure our border will allow in.

  • Martin Hale

I’m personally offended by the implicit racism that Mr. Dionne exhibits. He’s obviously convinced himself, and is trying to convince his readers that blacks, Hispanics and other minorities are incapable of participating in society in even the simplest of ways – I mean how complicated is it to stand on line at the DMV to get a state-issued ID? If there are people for whom that’s too tough, maybe it would be better that they not vote – they’re clearly not playing with a full deck.

And spare me the ‘cost of ID’ argument. I’ve lived in six states and each one of them provides for a low-cost non-drivers ID. And not one of them would deny ID to a person based solely on ability to pay. And if it’s the homeless we’re talking about as being disadvantaged by voter ID rules, let me point out that without a fixed address, most states won’t allow you to register anyway since they can’t determine where your vote should be counted for local election matters.

  • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

If any voter manipulation or fraud takes place, whether for Republicans or Democrats, it should be stomped on with both feet as hard as possible and as publicly as possible, no matter who it hurts or who it helps.

In any case, offering a free “voter’s ID” to people through the government is a price I think most taxpayers would be willing to pay to have cleaner, less fraudulent elections. I know I would.

    • baoxian

Agreed. People should be required to get a state-issued ID upon turning 18 or moving into a new state. Go ahead and make it free. The minor revenue hit would be well worth the advantages in voting integrity and public safety.

  • Hotspur1

One thing I would like to know from Mr. Dionne is what method he would propose to combat voter fraud. It exists, and it can be minimized, so what is their idea?

    • William Teach

Well, the answer is to just elect Democrats, a basic one party system like in Iran and Venezuala.

As to Discus, I think John was holding off after the server move issues, taking care of that stuff first. Hope he turns on soon: tons of spam making it through. Cleaned well over 100 comments this am.

  • Hotspur1

    Random question:

Why isn’t Disqus up? Did I miss a message about that?

    • baoxian

Ditto, and how do some of you have profile pics? I can’t even log in, there’s just a generic comment box.

      • Hotspur1

        baoxian:

I’m just putting in my username. It’s similar to how Gateway Pundit does it. Crude, but it will have to suffice until Disqus is back up.

  • Good Ol Boy

I see that one of our resident libs finally deigned to comment on this thread… I was disappointed to see no explanation of why the left is so vehemently opposed to voter ID. :(

    • StanW

      SOP for Liberals, GoB. Rinse-N-Repeat!

They will not post here, and later pretend that never saw this thread. They will then return to telling us how racist we are for demanding that people prove who they are in order to vote.

In Canada, you walk into a polling station with photo identification, have to show your face to confirm it is you (in private if you want), and then your name is checked on a list of all the people living in the area. It is crossed off when you are given your ballot so that you can’t vote again.

There is seriously something wrong with America.
