Greta BREAKS HER SILENCE After Quitting Fox News Suddenly

“On The Record” host Greta Van Susteren shocked Fox News fans when she announced that she was going to be parting with the mainstream media outlet after 14 years.

While her initial silence left many to speculate as to the cause of her immediate removal from the airwaves, Van Susteren finally came out with her explanation as to why she quit.

The separation appeared to be cordial, with the co-Presidents Jack Abernethy and Bill Shine wishing Greta good luck in her future, but Van Susteren’s comments made the whole environment seem much less cheery.

‘Yes, I have left the Fox News Channel,’ it read. ‘On Thursday night, I made my decision and informed Fox News of my decision that I was leaving Fox News Channel per my contract.

‘Fox has not felt like home to me for a few years and I took advantage of the clause in my contract which allows me to leave now.

‘The clause had a time limitation, meaning I could not wait. I love my staff, I love my colleagues, and I love the crews. That is the hardest part of this decision as they are wonderful people.

‘And most of all? I love the viewers — even the ones who have gotten mad at me over the years and taken swipes.

‘I hope to continue my career in broadcasting.’

Many were quick to speculate that the situation had something to do with the host’s defense of Roger Ailes in the Gretchen Carlson sexual misconduct case, which was recently settled as Ailes paid out $20M to the women accusing him of inappropriate behavior.

When asked where she could be seen in the future, Greta tweeted out that she did not yet know if anyone was willing to bring her on as a host, but that she had contacted other companies with an offer.

Fox News has already issued a statement on the matter and has announced that they will be putting Fox News Channel’s Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume in charge of “On The Record” through the remainder of the election season.

According to a source familiar with the process, Van Susteren asked to renegotiate her contract after Roger Ailes resigned under pressure as Fox News chairman following a sexual harassment lawsuit. Van Susteren is one of a number of key Fox personnel whose contract included a “key man” clause allowing her to leave if Ailes departed.

When those negotiations deadlocked, Van Susteren chose to invoke the departure option, the sources said. Her last show was Thursday, and the swiftness of events did not allow her to deliver an on-air farewell.

Would Fox not allow Van Susteren to renegotiate her contract because of her defense of the disgraced Roger Ailes? I guess that’s up to you to decide.
