Taking a dangerous shortcut during traffic, no matter how late you are for work or an event, is never worth the risk. One motorist in Russia found out the hard way, when he drove onto the grass next to the road and got foiled by a lamppost.
The Daily Mail reports,
When the road barrier separating the tarmac from the grass verge begins, he swerves right to drive on the grass.
All goes well until he reaches the second lamppost around which he has to manoeuvre…and gets stuck.
However the motorist manages to get himself out of the ditch, spraying a great deal on mud into the air, and drives off.The third lamppost proves the third, and final, hurdle.
As the driver tries to negotiate it he ends up at a difficult angle and gravity takes control.
The vehicle slides back down the bank and disappears from sight.
The motorist has not been identified and it is not known if he sustained any injuries.
Moral of the story? Plan your time better. And if there was no way to avoid being late, deal with it, it’s not worth the mess this poor fellow is now in. Watch the painful video below.
